DIRT!!!
Believe it or not, just using dirt is more complicated that one thinks. You have to have a very good homogeneous quality to the dirt, you have to KNOW what it's reaction to varying degrees of moisture (our track gets lots of rain and now has millions of plastic strips to hold it together when very wet and they also serve a wicks to hold moisture when it is added), and the surface has to be uniform from the rail to the 7 or 8 path so as to run fair......
There are many subtle requirements in maintaining something as ostensibly simple as dirt.
I'm sure the BC people are gleaming with confidence :rolleyes:
