Percentage of winning favorites

Can anyone supply the current rate at which favorites win in the usa? I realize the number has climbed slightly since casual fans can now access so much pertinent info.

I just arbitrarily looked at races since the start of 2007 (59974 races in my database)

All: 36% @ 8.21 avg. field size
Dirt fast: 37% @ 8.07 FS
Turf firm: 32% @ 9.06 FS
Synth.: 31% @ 8.72 FS
