Bay Meadows - Monday February 25 - Race 2

Talk about a thin field.
There were only 3 horses in this race.
They weren't even taking place bets.
Has anyone else ever seen a race this small?

Delaware had two match races this summer due to scratches.

Smae thing happened at PHA 2 years ago, and also there was a race that summer with only 1 horse at a different track, no betting on that one though. Might have been Colonial.

I've seen late scratches that resulted in two horse races . From some of the fields I've seen at Bay Meadows , most basically end up as two horse races .:cool:

I remember seeing a one horse race.

All the jock had to do was start & finish and they get the purse. He was the meets leading rider and coming out of the gate the jock nearly lost it!
Horse took a funny side step and almost unseated the rider. I have to give it to him though he did stay on and went ahead to run the race as a prep. He ran in a time that was obviuos he was not taking it easy. I believe in was Karamanos at Colonial, maybe two/three years ago.
