Los Alamitos enjoyed a meet high pool in the early Pick Four of $125,750 on Friday, February 22. The pool is the third highest of all-time at the Orange County oval. On Saturday night, the pool for the early Pick Four went over the $106,000 mark. The next early Pick Four is set for Tonight, as the first four races. Click HERE (http://www.losalamitos.com/laqhr/entries/20080224.pdf) for the wagering sheet for Sunday's races.

This is the fifth time that the Pick Four pool has gone over the $110,000 mark at Los Alamitos this year and it has gone over $100,000 thirteen times this year. Three of the top 11 highest early Pick Four pools have been set this year.

The pools figure to remain strong as more and more Thoroughbred daytime players catch on to the fact that Daily Racing Form carries complete past performance lines for the Los Alamitos early Pick Four races. Plus the "Great Race Place" - Santa Anita Park - continues to be open for simulcast wagering on Los Alamitos races every Sunday night. In addition, the Nevada editions of the Daily Racing Form carry past performance lines for the entire Los Alamitos card. I'm looking at the track feed now, & the wide-angle shot isn't much use.
Not as much watch floating on the track now, but it's the part of the track at the top of the lane that gave everyone fits last night.
After last night, I'm sure they tried to tighten up the inside part of the track, but I'm keeping a "7" in every leg of my play, just in case.
