The horse has the best number going into tomorrows race at Tampa Bay. He isn't O for ten though, he is 1 for 87. I don't know when he broke his maiden, but he might be the current record holder for a horse making starts in non winners of two events.

At Fort Erie he was an automatic throw out.

I always rooted for the horse though, he was owned and trained by one of my former psychology profs at York, believe it or not.

The horse "Ide Be O For Ten" broke his maiden 83 starts ago on 5/5/02 at Tampa Bay Downs in a maiden allowance race at 1 mile and 1/16 on turf....He is definitely "due" for that elusive 2nd win now that he's 9 years old...:D

Thanks for the info.

Sometimes the soundest horses on the grounds are those like Ide Be, they know how to run without hurting themselves and therefore they can last a long time. It is hard to retire a sound NW2.
I'm not sure how sound Ide Be is though, only guessing he must have a low vet bill.

Proving that he can handle both turf and dirt.

Horses for courses is definitely a great angle but Ide Be's record on the Tampa Dirt going into the race was 25 0 - 3 - 7
