Since it looks like I won't be able to get free access to the data I'd need for this, anybody want to collaborate on researching an idea I've got? Basically its a very common situation where I think exactas might offer substantially better value than any other type of bet on the same horses. It's not something I've seen written about at all, although I haven't read many handicapping books in the past 15-20 years. I'm looking for someone with access to a database with 10,000+ races of past performance and results charts data, and an interest in collaborating on testing the idea, and discussing how to refine it if it shows any promise. I'm not a pro (or even semi-pro) handicapper, but I kick butt at fantasy sports if that counts for anything. If you're interested enough to PM me, I'll share more details about the idea.
