Since I am leaving monday to Vegas, anyone have suggestions for the Derby?I don't know if I can make the bet,but it would be fun to have a ticket on horses that are not hyped yet.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Everyone knows his name, But this horse is a good candidate to
WIN the triple crown. IF they have triple crown futures.....

Save your future-book money until you know who will be running; what the track condition will be; and, what the post time odds will be. Then decide the who's and if's about your bets.

Future-book bets are a losing proposition for most everyone except the race books that offer them. That should tell you something.

Yeah, thats what I figure. But it would be fun to have a ticket on the winner, just to say I got the winner 4 months earlier. No serious cash, just more like a momento of the trip...

I don't think there is anything wrong with putting $10 on a horse while in Vegas, but I agree I wouldn't make it much more than that, its a bad bet. My point is, in Vegas, you certainly piss away more than that on other things.

Here's a couple of flyers... Not sure what "Prop" bets Bally's Might be offering.. as far as Triple Crown.. or WPS show wagers...

But If I was sitting in Vegas with a Lil house money.. I might take flyers on the Following

Grey Comet......... 300-1
Cugini Gold............300-1

And depending on how serious you want to get.

Empire Maker ........12-1
Sky Mesa.................10-1

Both have very serious chances of beating Vindication... and if they run well in THE FOY... or another prep.. This is Probabaly 3 times what you'll get DERBY day.

Everyone has a right to their opinion. My opinion right now is that 12-1 isn't a good price to tie up your money from now until the 1st Saturday in May given the pile of unknowns. And, the composite odds for a Dutch on the two is about 5-1. Not only do they have to get there and beat Vindication (who I don't view as a lock) but they have to beat all the other comers, too.

With 440 TC entries, what do you think a fair price is that a horse will even start in the Derby?

Certainly Valid points... 90 day tie up is the biggest draw back to me... anything and everything could and does happen... If it was March 15th instead of Feb 3rd... different story.

By the way... heres ALL the odds on the Nominated horses.

When I saw the list,at the casinos that took the bets,I gave up.All had crappy odds.Vindication at 3/1?I could get the same or better odds on the day of the race.Bad bet all the way around,so i couldn't even work up the nerve to bet even one. Thanks for the input tho.....
