Rider wass thrown, horse was caught, but then Rene Douglas did not remount until the gate. All the other jocks stayed on from paddock to gate, so there is a protest to have that mount DQ'd.

Anyone see this?

"almost" all of the other jocks. ;)

A rank Green Girl dismounted rider Rene Douglas after the post parade and ran. Jockeys Eibar Coa, the rider of J’ray, and Edgar Prado, the rider of Bel Air Beauty, dismounted their mounts during the eight-minute delay by Green Girl. The bay Lord of Men mare was eventually caught by outriders and deemed suitable to contest the Suwannee River.

Douglas, Coa, and Prado remounted each of their mounts at the starting gate.

HPI reported the controversy and foul claim delivered to the stewards.

The runners up will be awarded the victory i do believe. This case appears to be cut and dried.

Highly doubtful the mare will be disqualified. The stewards will use the rule covering "their discretion" and the result will stand.

This was reversed. As usual, the bettors don't matter.

Simple question...if this is such an egregious foul, why wasn't the horse scratched?

That would require a refund.
