I hope Pandy's not using the Diamond System to play this Grand Adventure,he's up $61.40 after about 8 weeks of action, not so good for a pro. Anyone else following Pandy, I know he sometimes graces this site, maybe we can get a few pointers?

Perhaps you can tell us why he should mention it?

Pandy had his bankroll much higher up a few weeks ago but I still think he does a great job and his picks are definitely worth taking a look at.

Carlo Hall bested Tricky Grin (Pandy's Pick) last week and not much gate speed tonite.

Pandy works under a presseured deadline which allows little time for deep reflection.

The racelines for Saturday are not available until between 1-7 PM Thursday.
He then must compare his notes and watch horses with the lines, browse the actual racelines and then compose his word so that ALL are available to the USTA either Thursday night or very early Friday morning.

He's explained this partially in an article or two.

It's hardly fair to provide a selection at nearly 1:00 PM Saturday and then compare yourself to Pandy.

Grand Adventure Weekend Wrap-up 02-01-08

Weekend number 20. I originally had some horses going at The Meadows Friday but racing was canceled. That left me with 6 horses, 3 of which won, but the highest price was $5.40 so the return was only $141.50 which resulted in a loss of $44.50. It shows you how quickly a cool streak can wipe out the profits from a hot streak. A few weeks ago I had over a $500 profit and had won 11 out of 16 weeks.

What is the point? To take shots at someone who is posting a few days in advance because they are only up a little? Also, you can E-mail Pandy concerning just about anything to do with racing and get a response that day.

Up 1.6% especially picking in advance is not only impressive, it's flat-out stunning.

Well done Bob. I hope you cash a few more before the adventure ends.

Pandy went "all exotic" for his Friday plays. Hit several nice exacta's and trifecta's. Nice work again Bob.

Thanks. I wanted to try to test and prove that you can win money betting harness racing without actually looking at the program, just using a computer handicapping system. You can do the same thing with thoroughbred handicapping programs, if used properly.

I looked for races where the Diamond Ratings appeared likely to have isolated the prime contenders, or picked a horse that was a longshot, and I also looked for horses with improving patterns (better rating last race than previous), and I simply put together some cold trifectas and a few trifecta keys. I used to be a traditionalist, in the sense that I felt that gold old fashioned handicapping was still needed, even if you have a good computer handicapping program, but I have seen time and time again that a good program can pick more longshot winners more consistently than even a better-than-average handicapper.
