War Pass so far to me is the best horse for the Derby right now. He reminds me of Hard Spun who I picked last year to win in the Derby. He finished 2nd. They are both very fast front running horses.

Pace will be everything of course in the race, but if he can go the distance and get the lead easy he could be another War Emblem. He was never challanged during the race even once.

I see so far a very weak field for the 2008 Derby. Unless im missing some horses I don't see anything like we had in 2007. Less than 3 months left, so some other horses have to step it up.

Many times a "quick" developing three year old matures at just the right time: Grindstone, Lil ET, Curlin etc.....

It is still far too early to sort it out.
