Have you guys changed the way you play the past few weeks due to the track condition. like when most people play aqueduct they play the speed on the inner.. Just wondering if you played to the bias of the track.

My data tells me to play SP and FX horses if they are 1-2-3 on a certain factor. I play whatever my "robot" tells me is winning and paying off. It always pays to keep a good model of what is winning using your factors.

Unreal times, world record just set. hope no one breaks down. Quarters in under 21, half 42 and change, final time of 1:06.2 crazy

i think i will take a break from santa anita for a while and wait for them to install the pro-ride. then come up with a bias report to figure out to play that again. it seems like i pick the closer and they lose. i pick the speed of the speed they do nothing.. so that is why i ask.

Its a great place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there !! Seriously I hope they get things straightened out , its a beautiful facility !! I never wager on races there , I have enough trouble at the local track .

we should see what progress is made with racing being canceled until thursday.

That "new record" should have an asterisk. It's bad enough that the track and management is so screwed up now. But to undermine previous records because they scraped the track down to the asphalt, ... well, it shouldn't even be recognized.

As of now, the plan is to run Thu-Sun this week then repair the track from Mon-Thu (2/4-2/7) next week and resume racing on Friday. There is a possibility that they could run next Thursday.

How is it that every Tom Dick and Harry can run sub 22 opening quarters??

It is going to lead to more breakdowns later on.

You draw a lot of conclusions with very little data.

My money says SA management is so heavily invested and slavishly devoted to the synthetic craze as to start CROWING about their surface the instant the drainage problem has been resolved. Indications of this attitude have begun to pop up mixed in with the mea culpas. Didn't the gm out there dare to say something about SA'S need to "lead" the industry when it comes to racing surfaces? "LEAD?" How about just drying the oatmeal out enough to run a racecard? And slowing it down enough that the riders can withstand the G-force? And didn't somebody else proclaim that their cushion track's new additive was garnering "rave" reviews? "RAVE?" Who in the world "raves" about a semi liquid binding agent???????????????

And while I may be biased, doesn't Mountaineer management now look like geniuses in comparison for choosing Tapeta at Presque Isle?

I thought I was dreaming and mixing harness drivers with jockeys until I saw a few today at Anita wearing full face protectors akin to the ones (however these were clear) that welders use.

I watched the SA replays last night and a LOT of kickback.
If I was a jockey there, I'd probably be wearing a Bell brand motorcycle helmet and rent out the extra ad space !

Not only there.
Golden Gates also has Tapeta.
There has been just as much rain at Golden Gates as at Santa Anita, but Golden Gates hasn't had to close a single day yet.

Tapeta. Wasn't that the surface that featured a fatal breakdown in its very first race in this country? Kinda ironic, dontcha think?

I was referring to his prediction of breakdowns. Sometimes you need to give this posting thing a little thought.

I find more irony in Mnr getting it right at Erie while SA blundered.
