Wow one rarely see this: Green Carson in today's ninth at Aqueduct.

usually you never see it. i'm not saying this is the case here, but alot of times it happens when a morning line guy might have something of a beef with the particular connections, thus making him/her look bad with a morning line of 99/1 most people wont go over 30/1 if its 12 or less horses.

The only time I recall seeing it is when the horse was an AE/MTO that the linemaker already knew wasn't going to draw in. I have to say though, it's refreshing to see a little realism. This horse was pretty close to 99-1 in each of his last two starts, and nothing he did in those two would lead you to think he'll take any more money than that today.

Last 2 years… (Seems NY and Ky have a monopoly on it)

Not saying it shouldn’t be assigned, but it is the racing equivalent of a Jimmy Cagney grapefruit to the mush for the connections.

If I remember right, the "Rick's Natural Star" fiasco in The Breeders Cup @ Woodbine had him at a morning line of 99x1, and he certainly deserved it!:D

"Rick" was a star ... for three furlongs anyway.

I think the most I've seen 99/1 is Mike Watchmaker's Breeder's Cup ML?

but do you remember what he went off at ?

I think he went off at 50/1 or so. There's also a lot of uncashed tickets of "Big Red's" last race.

Some dork at the DRF said the betting folks at Woodbine were stupid. How stupid do you have to be not to recognize an obvious novelty wager?

The betting crowd at that track is far from stupid.

I'd like to give a big shout-out to the morning-line oddsmaker at Philly Park, who does not hesitate to make horses 50-1 and up. Just on Wednesday, he tabbed an Osvaldo Rivera horse 80-1 in the morning line. Thing is, he's been at the track for more than 20 years and knows which trainers have no clue what they're doing, and tabs their horses accordingly. Trainer Uriah St. Lewis, who hasn't won a race in 2 years, consistently gets his animals pegged at 50-1 and up. I applaud this linemaker for telling it like it is to Philly handicappers.

You did say the betting crowd so that does not include management, but we all knew that....

Why does this show the horse racing twice the same day and 2 consecutive days? Also, several races in 1 weeks' time?

I think each line represents a separate horse that was 99-1 in the morning line, not the same horse all the way down. (Or am I misreading your question?)

Uriah St. Lewis is a gyp outfit. He abuses riders in the morning and is very unloyal.

As Overlay said, these aren’t the same animal.
