Two for you today, boys and girls. Both are at Santa Anita.
Race 5: Papanonie (10), at patently ridiculous morning odds of 15/1, is the Moon Han runner. This is a turf-loving closer, and this race at 6 1/2 furlongs should NOT be seen as just a prep. Good news: Frankel's 5/2 favorite, In the Woods, drew into the race. Never set hoof on grass, not terrifically bred for it. Five to stinkin' TWO ? Will probably go lower. Sheesh.
Race 8: The Mike Mitchell charge, Soul City Slew (7), is slightly iffier. I see it as a two-horse match between In Summation and SCS. Take a number as a minimal price --- 9/1, whatever --- and STICK to it. If SCS runs above that number, play him. If not, pass the race or play In Summation at 3/2. Don't laugh --- some may judge that to be a fair price. The other two faves are no deal below 5/1.
