View Full Version : ESPN live racing video

I live in an area where I can't access wagering services like YouBet or TVG, so I'm mostly offshore, and I used to be able to watch some live video through the ESPN live racing site. The tracks there that do have live video are powered by YouBet.
http://espn.go.com/horse/liveracing06.html
Anyway, all was well until a few months ago, when I was no longer able to view the live stream. That is to say, when I now press a link to a track that has live video, the screen comes up, the display has the word "connecting" written on it apparently trying to connect to the stream, but before the signal starts buffering, the word "ready" appears in small blue letters on the dark video screen, and no video plays anymore - not at any track.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is there some adjustment I have to make in my windows media settings to get the picture back?

I thought everyone had access to video services at Youbet and TVG, but wagering is restricted in different states. You might have to pay a monthly fee of $10, but you can not expect a free lunch if you use their services.

I did pay Magna a few bucks a month for their service, very limited tracks. But this signal I'm referring to is provided to ESPN by youbet, there is no charge, and video available is mostly for the second tier tracks. As far as I can tell, I can't get video only from youbet. Anyway, I used to get this ESPN signal fine, and then all of a sudden a couple of months ago I couldn't. Just wondering if anuone else has encountered this and if there's a quick fix.

No I am not in the U.S. currently, but long very much for the days I was in So. California following that racing circuit.
You think that may have something to do with it? If so, they must have changed their policy, because I was able to watch video from that site for at least 3 years.

That is why you can't watch. I'm not sure about Canada, but the rest of the world is blocked. I can't even get video with a Youbet account as a military guy living overseas. They couldn't figure out why I didn't want an account after telling me that.:lol::lol:

if they are tracking you by your ip than there may be a work around using a proxy.

Yes, a proxy might be worth a shot, I've never tried it so I'll have to look into it.
Can anyone in the U.S. confirm that they can see a video stream from my original ESPN link? There should be a stream from Freehold or Beulah today (1/16/08).

Try CBS Sportsline - they have some of the minor tracks also through youbet.

you can try joining tvgfree.net or youbet.net they are fake wagering sites and they provide video for some tracks. Its a good place to get aqueduct if you dont have tvg.

It has to be www.youbet.net. Without the www you will get an error.
I know the site. They block video outside the US at youbet.net, even with the www.
I haven't tried the tvgfree yet.
