There seems to be several questions arising concerning makeup wagers and putting a limit on them. WHAT DOES THE MAJORITY THINK?...limit it to 2?.......5? Maybe we should change the contest every 5 days....Please add your feedback to your posting, if you choose too.

Well, the 7 horse Song of Pirates (ML 7-2) has a 4.2 Prime Power advantage which translates into an expected win % of about 41% so I guess we should demand odds of 5-2 or better on this guy.

The 4, Perfect Casting (ML9-2) is a clear 2nd choice in Prime Power with a 6.3 point advantage over the 8 Hewitts (ML5-2) who is coming off an almost 8 month respite.

Could the Prime Power Rankings pull off a cold exacta two days in a row? Obviously, the odds are against it, but the rankings certainly point towards it.

The 3 Temecula Creek (ML 3-1) is also in the mix, so says the ML guy. Bris ranks him 5th in Prime Power 12.6 pts behind SOP.

Early Speed horses have won 75% of the 7 Fulong races at SAX this meet and Hewitts is the only E in the field.

LongShot? The Brazilian-bred 5 By Spot (ML 10-1) gets 28% jock David Flores and gets JUICE for the first time.

Posts 4-7 appear to be the preferred posts at 7 furllongs, having accounted for 7 of the 8 wins this meet at this distance.

Not ready to post a pick yet, but thought I would pass along these observations.

As for makeup bets, I was swayed by the posts that came after mine in the Day1 thread... I say no makeup bets at all. Being able to place bets on any race at all is a clear advantage. People who miss days don't merit an advantage over those who make the effort to participate every day.

I thought with only two speed horses in this race, one of them would prevail...The #8 was allowed to control the speed, and even with the layoff the fact that there was just 2 horses wanting the front....and I've been burned a number of times thinking these layoffs would hurt the horses chances...I tend to discount the neg. layoff angle now...
