I talked to the guy in charge of the suite rentals at Klueless Downs, Justin Uthadumaz and his memo was in response to a complaint from the cleaning crew. Don't expect any real problems to come out of it. If you hit a nice one today, perhaps just leave a little silver on the table... should quiet them down.

I got a brief update from Rookie and he indicated that he has been delayed and does not expect to be able to get back to the forum until hopefully Friday.

With this contest scheduled to end tomorrow, I feel bad that our contest administrator will not have the opportunity to fire his remaining bullets. And, since we are having so much fun, I am going to make an Exective Decision to extend the contest a couple additional BONUS DAYS under the following framework:

1. Play will continue today and Thursday, as planned.
2. Friday will be a bonus day with a bankroll of $25. Additionally, players may play any make-up dollars they have available to them.
3. Saturday the two Derby Prep races will be bonus races added to the contest. Each player will receive an additional $30 bankroll for EACH of these two races and wagering must be restricted to these two contests ($30 each):

Grade III Lecomte Stakes @ The Fairgrounds (1 mile - 3 yr olds)
Grade III San Rafael Stakes @ Santa Anita (1 mile - 3 yr olds)

4. Any accrued make-up monies available to players may also be played on any race at any track on Saturday with a post time prior to last derby prep race on Saturday. Make-up $'s will not be awarded for the two Saturday Derby Prep bonus races. Any unused make-up dollars at the conclusion of the second prep race on Saturday will be forfeited.

For a single race wager, make-up $'s are given and may be replayed.

Not sure that we have broached this topic here, but for a multi-race wager I would propose we use the similar rules as Buddha's Aqueduct Inner Track P4 contest which means late scratches receive post time favorite. Early scratches would be a refund of that portion of wager and in this case could be used on make-up plays.

Sound reasonable?

You know, the tough thing about these contests, is that everyone has different preferences and opinions as to what the format/rules should be and it is almost impossible to please everyone, so some poor sap (me in this case...lol) has to make an "Executive Decision" and just roll with it, knowing full well that there will be some dissenting views. Having said that...

In this case, your logic regarding the contest format as it was established, and my decision to add the bonus races are admittedly a bit conflicting. I can appreciate that! I was hoping to "put a spotlight" on those Derby preps, as I thouroughly enjoy following the prep races up to the Derby but perhaps, this contest is not necessarily the right place to do that.

I am respectfully retracting the restriction that Saturdays $60 bankroll MUST be played on the two Derby preps. Everyone is free to fire away as you wish on any race on Saturday!
