He was banned Dewc 15 2006 from Calder and Magna tracks because they can and jockeys have no pull or owner support like trainers do-

Gulfstream Park announced Jan. 26 that jockey Rene Douglas is once again allowed to ride at the south Florida track.

Douglas had been ruled off the grounds at Calder Race Course Dec. 15 and was prohibited from riding at any track owned by Magna Entertainment Corp. during the length of an investigation conducted by the Thoroughbred Racing and Protective Bureau.

In a statement released by the track, Bill Murphy, Gulfstream's president and general manager, said: “Based upon additional information provided to Gulfstream Park by the TRPB regarding its continued investigation of jockey Rene Douglas, we have determined that it is appropriate at this time to grant Mr. Douglas racing privileges at our facility.”
News says RD will ride a stakes at Calder.
Legally any USA track can ban anyone they want but usually do not ban trainers (for long). Jockeys are disposable.

What gives is that Magna probably realized they couldn't continue the charade any longer.

"Great Lakes Downs to end after 2007 meet
19 January 2007

AURORA, Ontario – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Magna Entertainment Corp. ("MEC") (NASDAQ: MECA) today announced that the 2007 race meet will be the last meet that it will operate Great Lakes Downs, a thoroughbred racetrack located in Muskegon, Michigan. This decision was made as a result of continuing and forecast operational losses at Great Lakes Downs."

MMM- Magna owned and ran GLD when the alleged "cheating" by multiple jockeys occured- they soon banned several jockeys from their tracks- then soon after they allowed them back to race at most of their tracks-
Can you say inside information that the multiple jockey scandal was overblown BS?
Douglas was allowed back at GP exactly 1 week after Magna announced disassociation with operations ot the track where the most trouble started, GLD!!!LOL!!
