Tomillo is an old timer that wins consistently at a 10-12% rate in Chicago. He has wintered at Fair Grounds the last few years and has done poorly there. He won 4% at FG last year and that was typical. So far this meet he is 0 for 12. He uses this meet to gear up for the spring Hawthorne meet. I make all of his FG starters throw outs and will until his pattern changes.

Tom is a very streaky trainer. He is a nice guy who is better at talking owners into letting him train the horse than he is at the actual training. When he gets in a bad streak his horse run as if he's riding them (he weighs about 275).

He is now 0 for 52 with only 8 finishing in the money.

Hence his nickname "tiny".

I can't stand it when the TVG idiots try to pronounce his name.....the L's are pronounced. Its an Italian name. But being so West Coast PC, the TVG announcers always referred to him as Tom TaMEEoo, thinking he was Spanish.

He often runs his horses over their heads. He would win more races if he dropped his steeds a couple levels.

I thought you hit it perfect, he's a phatbastard, and a front man, not a actual trainer. I would lay you 5-1 he hasn't seen the inside of his barn in years.

I'm glad you said, "... inside of his barn ...," and not "...his knees..."
