Second time starters are a great source of profits. I look for good trainers who can figure out what went wrong 1st out and pay close attention to betting action 1st out as well as 2nd out. Most horses improve Beyers from 10-15 points as well, and that is often the key to juicy mutuels as many fail to consider this fact.

I am getting more intersted in trainers lately-two reasons:

1. Too many winners popping up that I just cannot ratioanlize using conventional thought
2. I finally have a db large enough to do something about it.

I am seeing a lot of names showing up in both 2nd and 3rd time starters with big ballons in the $w column.
This is new ground for me, so I don't know what to expect, but I am starting a list of names that I want to remember. Using my HTR downloads, I can query all the tracks any day for those names and then focus in on what they are up to. If only I didn't have have this damn day job <G>
