In a few short days, he'll be 10!!!! I couldn't be happier for the Grants.

It humbles one to see this kind of heart, this kind of desire to win in a racehorse.

Bless you son, you are a grand, grand fella.

Alright!!! WooHoo!!! I bet he put a cigarette out on his hoof in the paddock, downed his whiskey, then showed those young'uns how it gets done....God gotta love the old guys...

I know it, I guess he likes the game.

I was watching him before they opened the gate, looked like he was going to fall asleep, then the gates open and he just kind of walks out as he's been doing over the last year or so. Doesn't seem to matter with him, he's got a good long stride and seemingly covers a lot of ground effortlessly. I think he was one of the favorites in the 2002 BC Classic in Chicago on the heels of his JCGC win that year. I didn't back him today but that's okay, as a fan of the game and Evening Attire himself it was heartwarming to see him get up. Hopefully he's feeling good tonight and getting much deserved attention.

Saw him pull it off live. Many people were clapping as he came back to the winner's circle. The jock on Hunting did him a big favor dropping so far back off the pace though. Figured he'd have a good shot at this one anyway, especially when he walked out of the gate a little quicker than normal :)

According to the Brisnet chart, the same leader ran from the 1/2 to 3/4 in 24.2 seconds, and EA made up 7 1/2 lengths during that period!

And for our $1 price of admission we also got to pick out a free NYRA stocking stuffer from leftover giveaways. Since we already had the Belmont umbrella and had no need for any more lawnchairs, I got the official Todd Pletcher bobblehead.

Speaking of older horses--watching the National Finals Rodeo last night--one of the calf ropers said he wouldn't ride a horse that wasn't old enough to vote.

And a bucking bronc was 24.

He was last seen at Woodbine working a 1/2 mile in April 2007. Something must have gone wrong as the connections passed on the whole turf season this year. Out of his 7 wins lifetime, 6 of them were on turf. I doubt he went to the breeding shed since he is a gelding.
