"The Lives, Times and Past Performances of America's Greates Thoroughbreds" Revised Editon Champions form 1893-2004. This is a beautiful hard bound coffee table type book its black with a picture of a portrait of Man o' War on the cover. Inside is the lifetime past performance of every champion race horse . Its a beautiful thing.
Some things that stood out was the first page I opened to. A horse called Delegate,his pastperformaces took up almost 2 complete pages, 134 starts for this horse 1946-1954, there are horse with more starts. There are about 500 horses in all.
It also becomes sadly clear that as we get closer to modern day the horses run noticably less. There is even a clear distinction between the horse of the 1990's and today.
Something else that stood out were horses that ran either 1st or second in ALL their races.
