How have you been doing with your really early Derby picks? :p He was asking for 10 and you already have it down to one! ;)

Yes, it is still too early, but for those that like Court Vision, like I thought I was going to as I often do Remsen winners, he was S-L-O-W. Way way too slow. I do thank him for the money he won me, but I don't think I'll be investing in him again.....War Pass - Pyro. Got a feeling these two will be doing the 1-2 thing a few more times than they already have.

Would you take odds of 2-1 on "ALL OTHERS"? (Hypothetical, of course)
My guess is that is what Las Vegas would offer at the moment.

Wasn't he the last 2 yr old stakes winner? The latest thing?
I rarely make picks until 2 weeks prior to the KY Derby, unless they beating each other taking turns like the year Giacomo won. Usually I keep track of those out due to injury, so any other early picks from me will be from rubber tracks!

You are certainly welcome to list high Beyer horses going into the recent KY Derbys and their results if you wish.

" We’ve seen too many 2-year-olds already this year who have run big on dirt, but couldn’t pick their feet up on Polytrack, and vice versa.

But we’ll deal with that aspect of the Derby next spring."

The article was pretty good, but I go with Watchmaker's POV on the Remsen, that yes, Court Vision had trouble, but so did the 2nd place horse. The Demoiselle was a bad enough race the way it played out (though well ridden by the winner) but the boys were down right terrible in the Remsen.

Other Derby oriented news today is that the Rebel was upgraded to Gr 2 this year (it wasn't even graded when Smarty Jones won it in 2004) but they still left the Ark derby a Gr 2. That's a shame given how many good ones are going through there as it deserves to be a Gr 1 more than the Fla Derby does these days.
