One and Done

I have a week off between jobs. Let me start by telling all those that don't work, and can goof off around the house all day, eff you! This is the life.

There once was a time where there was honor in the Selections Forum. You put up a horse, you told a story. Not everyone, but damn near everyone. You could actually learn something about the inner workings of the handicapper's mind. I think the fellow board "nicks" had some respect for those that layed it out there. Some of that still goes on, but too often, someone craps out a load of horses and then the scuds fly. I miss the old way, and appreciate those that will share their reasoning behind a horse they are willing to invest in.

But, in the words of Tracy Lawrence, time marches on. So while avoiding all the things I should be doing today, I am going to crap out a load of horseys using a single factor angle that is a proven winner. No capping required here gents and germs. A "Bet Your Lungs" series with a history of results. The One And Done jockey angle. These are jocks that, for whatever reason, are giving up their day off to come to the tracks and ride in a single race. Instead of going a second round with the track babe they met last night, they are up early to climb aboard a horse, and go 45 mph around a track that could result in their injury or death. Ask any one of the toothless crowd at the track, "there has be a reason".

All bets are $2 win bets with the following exceptions:

If race is $5000 or less, double bet.
If race is $40000 or more, triple bet.
If temperature is less than freezing, 4X bet.
If you have heard of the jockey before reading their name and know them to be "pretty good", 5X bet.


Know that I will be pouring my own accrued vacation time pay into these pinheads as "there has to be a reason" they are showing up for one stinking race. No horsey stories, just a big pile of picks they way the "action boys" like it. By the end of the day, you can upgrade momma from the Ipod shuffle to the 80GB video version for Christmas.
