Difficult for us to 'cap back to back days and this sequence formidable indeed. In leg one we are going four long with TAP DANCING MAUK our top choice. After Romans gets him he tries a Grade three, then is nominated for the River City and now is in for a tag after a pair of nice halfs. Adding KINGSFIELD who comes out of a quick heat and keeps Robby, JAPENGO who closed well in his comebacker and gets Kent sitting on a big day and Dr. P for trainer never one to read the condition book but November 16 race did not go, not that this colt wasn't out of class there as well!

In the River City playing BIG PRAIRIE who has a big late kick and gets five pounds from COSMONAUT who gets Prado back and is the one to beat.

In the Clark taking ISTAN who comes off the best work of his career and had others options. This is his swan song and Ben Huffman gave him BIG respect with this impost as he attempts to get the trip. Also DIAMOND STRIPES who could run anywhere but at least tried the big boys.

Little reason to take short prices on Linda' and Terrific Storm with both being nominated to the stake and thinking GOLD SOUND is as good as they are anyway. Group winner has worked well for very solid off the bench conditioner. Also LORD CARMEN who will be running late and with Waynes sophomore this pace could be swift. Do not think because write up is short that we did not put the time in, we did. This is a tough string and the redboard police have been out in force lately. 6,9,12,13 / 1,4 / 1,8 / 4,10 is the play. Good cappin. BBB

I could see Japengo running a bit here in the 9th.

5/1 isn't all that great of a price, but he might be in the thick of things late.

River City
Big Prairie & Yate's Black Cat may find the race shape to their liking.

Clark
I like Fairbanks if he is allowed to roll from the start.

12th
Gold Sound & Terrific Storm.

I'm on pins and needles waiting for tomorrow's redboard on this sequence.

Our policy of don't duck can bite us at any time and this sequence took a chunk out of our hide as it was near impossible on a small ticket. We added three horses and subtracted one (Thorn Song for you redboardites) increasing our play some 160%. Back to back days is not our thing.

7 After being off since July and getting his mile in 1:35 and change ALPHA CAPO ($28.20) destroys this field with a stake like performance. Fitness was not a question for us as this 6yo had been working very long and very well. The trip north was a tip off as team Borel goes on vacation until Hot Springs opens but we saw nothing in 'Alpha's resume to expect this easy score. Only 2-15 on dirt, a two turn horse in a one turn race etc. but 6yo is now ten wins, ten seconds in forty attempts.

Had trouble with the pace and weights in the River City never getting a good grip on this one. Desormeaux as good on grass as their is (one of only six riders alltime with a positive lifetime R.O.I.) and he showed it here.

Clark

Absolutely no handle on this one and went a very vanilla two deep, ending up short on the board and no threat on the track.

Caboose

Rock solid allowance horse Terrific Storm $8 wins it though we may have opted to run in the stake carrying ten less pounds! Team TAP scores with the late double at over 50-1 and that seldom occurs underscoring the complexity of this sequence. Not that the 22 large for the pick four doesn't.

As per our custom, we try to post on the home teams forum, if possible, and will begin posting our Sunday pick four's at nola.com/forums/startinggate
The pools are much smaller and the challenges many, given state law requires three races each day for bayou breds. It has always been a good venue for us and we have many friends that post. Good cappin. BBB

One thing is for sure, you do not disappoint. Am I to assume the "ROI" will not be the same this year as last?
