Imagine yourself lounging about on a luxury cruise liner in the Caribbean while all the folks up north are bundling up from the cold. We'd love to have you join us on the 7-Day Boomer Boat Bash in February. We'll be hosting a couple of value packed handicapping and wagering seminars right on the boat in the middle of the Caribbean sea. Join me for breakfast and a special dinner with some of the top handicapping pros in the business. My accountant tells me it's tax deductible too, if you qualify under the educational benefits statute, (check with your tax professional) and come on along!!!!!
Get all the details at: www.BoomerBoatBash.com (http://www.boomerboatbash.com/)

See you there!!!!;)

P.S. I'm a new authorized advertiser on Pace Advantage, Thanks Mike!

Wow, I'm going to actually have to try and pull myself away from the office for this. A weeks worth of handicapping combined with Cuban cigars (once you get into International waters) is pretty tempting. :)

Ian: We would love to have you come along and join our handicapping panel! Also, I want to remind everyone that if you are a current Premier Turf Club member or sign up as one, you will receive a special discount on the cruise! We would love to fill our allotted cabin space on the ship (The beautiful Carnival Valor) and put faces to the many names that we've "seen" over the last year and a half here!;) The cruise cost (especially when you consider it includes port taxes, fuel surcharges, and an onboard ship credit) is very competitively priced!

I hope to meet many of you this spring and make this an annual event!

Wow!

me too!

Boomer - how many do you normally get on board?
What are the handicapping classes about in general if you could?

Sounds a great little trip for that time of year!

Do not make this your reason for going. Only if you are classified as a professional (schedule C) would the above work and it is a long shot:) .

This comment is only on the tax aspect and does not pertain to anything else.

P.S. any horse loving accountant would say it is in the worst times of the year (TAX SEASON:bang: )

ddog: Thanks for your interest, and I certainly hope you (and your friends and family) can attend. We started Boomer "Bashes" in Laughlin, Nevada in 2005 and 137 people attended the inaugural event. We then had a small private "Bash" gathering of around 30 at the former Aladdin Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in 2006. This year because of many busy schedules, it didn't come to fruition, but I received a number of emails saying we should bring it back on an annual basis, and that a cruise might be a great idea, so that's what we're doing! I think everyone (having cruised on Carnival many times) will have a great time. As for the handicapping classes, we're still putting together our "panel" but I promise you it will be a good one, and I know many of you remember my handicapping book's co-author Craig Lanham out of Kansas City joining me for the inaugural event as well as Delta Downs' track announcer and handicapper Don Stevens. On our 2008 cruise, we will cover handicapping in detail, from "breaking down races" to determining how to exotic wager on the ones that we determine to be playable. Click on my website above that has been specially set-up for this event (www.BoomerBoatBash.com (http://www.BoomerBoatBash.com)) for more info, and I recommend that you lock up your spots as soon as possible for the best prices and availability!!

Happy Handicapping and I look forward to seeing you aboard the ship!
Bon voyage:)

Sailwolf....what happened to your reply?

I do not know. I had the reply in front of me and I click "submit reply" and the reply "disappeared". I went back to "edit the message" and the entire reply was there and I clicked "save changes" and then the reply disappeared except for what you can see. I did this 2 or 3 times and could not get the message to "stay"

Over the years I've been to countless seminars-seminars on horse racing-money-communication etc. The seminars have ranked from life changing to
What all of these seminars had in common is they were all held in Holiday Inns. Even the ones held in Marriott's or Hilton's were held in Holiday Inns. There is a certain Holiday Inn look, touch and feel. I'm not sure I'm describing it correctly, but if you've been to a seminar in a Holiday Inn you'll know what I'm talking about.
This is on a ship in the Caribbean!!! How much further from a Holiday Inn can you get? If there's anyway to do this I'm going. :)

b.o.n.c.-No knock on Holiday Inns in general, because I've stayed in a bunch of them in my many years on the road, but your point is "spot on". We will be providing a beautiful yet inexpensive backdrop to talk horse racing that I don't think anyone has ever tried before. It is my sincere hope that many of you will be able to attend so that we can do this while getting to know each other and enjoy some great time in the Caribbean at the same time!:)

Why didn't you play the 10 in the second slot in the Trifecta?

I thought it was pretty much standard play to play the key horse the same slots in the Trifecta as you do in the exacta.

Some players call it an "exacta plus". With such a long odds pick I would have played the 10 in the top three spots which is normally called a "key horseplay play".

I would appreciate you sharing your thought process.

JM: I absolutely did, and notice I caught my other keys in the dime superfecta as well, and that was why it was such a nice overall score. I simply highlighted what the members that went to my website were sure to have hit, as I am careful not to spread folks that are looking at my spot plays "too thin" in their wagers. I know based on what was posted, that they had at the least the exacta and huge across the board mutuels that were "mapped out" in the spot play instructions, but as you do, I also added in the trifecta and superfectas off the 10 horse in all 4 positions in my own personal plays as well, surrounded by my other key horses who ran 1st 3rd and 4th around the 10..:)

As we get closer to "Handicapping Seminars at Sea" on Feb 24, we will continue to have cut-off dates that will save you money, as obviously the earlier you lock in the cruise, the better the deal we can get with the cruise line (Carnival) on your behalf....Several of you have contacted me about the next cut-off date and it is December 30. You can reach me at the toll free number above if you have any questions. Sign up today! We'd like to meet as many people from the board as possible, and when you talk about "all inclusive" for 7 days, it's a very inexpensive price!

Hello everyone.....Just wanted to let you all know that if you haven't cruised, you don't know what you're missing! We had a fantastic 8 days aboard the Carnival Valor Feb 24-Mar 2 with plenty of time to visit during the "fun days at Sea" and 3 great port of calls including Nassau, Bahamas, The US Virgin Islands and the gorgeous Dutch/French island of St. Maarten in the southern Caribbean where my wife Michele and I took a horseback ride right out into the ocean. For those of you that aren't spoiled by our great Southwest Florida weather already, the Caribbean temperatures were in the mid 70's, (while most of the US was in sub freezing temperatures) the Carnival staff were fantastic and helpful to our guests who had never been on a cruise before, the entertainment on board was first rate and the food was 5 star. (I did well to only gain 7 pounds because I walked the "track" on the lido deck each morning):D. Anyway, we are already working on our 2009 cruise which is tentatively set for Feb 28, 2009 to sail to Ocho Rios, Jamaica (home of one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world) the gorgeous Grand Cayman Islands, and a wonderful 14 hour stop in Cozumel, Mexico. This is your chance to take your significant other on a fantastic but very reasonably priced beautiful vacation in the dead of winter and talk some horse racing at the same time. I am currently talking with potential panelists for 2009, but would welcome everyone's suggestions on who we could bring on board that would interest you the most into participating in the 2009 event...Some of the suggestions we've had so far are Ian Meyers of Premier Turf Club, Joe Riddell of Premier Turf Club and well known in Kentucky, Jeff of J Capper, Andy Beyer, Steve Davidowitz and Don Stevens of Delta Downs (who participated in my 2005 Breeder's Cup Bash in Laughlin, Nevada) let me know your suggestions and I will do my best to bring these folks "aboard"....If you have any questions, feel free to pm me and we'll be posting the complete itinerary and prices for the 2009 cruise soon.............

Hope to meet as many of you in person as possible on the next Handicapping Cruise, and Bon Voyage;)
