hardly. just doing their jobs most likely.
everyones an armchair quarterback it seems.

the chief is quoted in the article as saying
"I don't have all the facts and I don't want to mistake what happened," he said.

But of course on the internet no such discipline exists and people are quick to label others as "power mad" without knowing the facts.

In a sense, this is like what happened here in San Diego county with the recent fires.

From the prior disaster 4 years ago, various officials learned where they needed vast improvements in co operation, mutual aid, communication, planning, etc. And to their credit, the local city and county, state and federal officials did a good job making those changes.

However, when it came time to implement the mutual aid provisions negotiated between the U.S. Navy and CALFIRE, the planes and helo's sat on the ground. It seems on CALFIRE spotters are the only ones qualified to perform those duties and that the U.S. Navy trained personnel are not qualified. (Ya, right.)

CALFIRE is populated with back-side covering, politically appointed people. I say "fire" their ass -- any meaning of the word you choose.

"It's embarrassing," said Chris Trombley, chief of the Champlain [New York] Volunteer Fire Department and deputy fire coordinator for Clinton County Emergency Services. "We're calling for help from another country and the first roadblock they hit is at our border."

quote from article:"Clinton County has mutual aid agreements with fire departments in Vermont and Quebec, Trombley said, and the county requests help from Quebec fire departments about 30 times a year. It sends help to Canada a similar number of times, he said."

so let me get this straight, one firetruck gets held up 8 minutes once in 50 years, and you take that as a comment on lust for power by authoritarian figures?

Guess what...they've had badges for the last 50 years, too.

simple case of cya.

explain to me why this, in the wide world of news, deserves my attention.

yeah...that's what they WANT you to think.
The unfinished pyramid and the eye in a triangle on the reverse side are classic symbols. The Egyptian pyramid is a symbol of strength and duration; the 13 steps indicate the original number of U.S. states; and the 13 steps leading to an unfinished summit indicates future growth of the nation. The eye is known as the "Eye of Providence" and is surrounded by rays of light. According to Webster's New World College Dictionary, "providence" can mean:

1. a looking to, or preparation for, the future; provision.
2. skill or wisdom in management; prudence.
3. a) the care or benevolent guidance of God or nature, b) an instance of this.
4. God, as the guiding power of the universe.

The single eye shows up in Egyptian mythology as the Eye of Horus, an ancient god of the Egyptians. The eye represented wisdom, health and prosperity. Some people think that the "all-seeing eye" is a symbol of Freemasonry, a fraternal organization, and they interpret this as proof that the Founding Fathers believed in Masonic principles and wanted to impose Masonic order on the United States.

you've got to go deeper...Websters Dictionary is an Illuminati front, don't believe anything they say.

Here, from a more reputable source (a guy named Pete)

For those of us who know the occult and the Illuminati very well, the feature that stands out above all others is the All-Seeing Eye. This symbol is the single most important symbol of the Illuminati, for it exemplifies the supernatural power they wield from Lord Lucifer, from Satan himself. As you can see from this symbol on the back of our One Dollar Bill, the typical All-Seeing Eye is depicted in the form of a pyramid, shown here, hovering over the unfinished pyramid representative of the unfinished project of moving the world into the New World Order and staging their Masonic Christ.

Notice the all-important hexagram interwoven within this One Dollar Bill symbol. The hexagram is the single most evil Satanic symbol in the world, and is the most powerful ritual symbol. Further, when a Satanist puts a circle around a hexagram, he has created a "Demon Trap", a place inside of which a demon can manifest himself in this dimension. By making this symbol on our One Dollar Bill a demon trap, the Satanist literally believes he is allowing demons to come through this dimension at will; since the Illuminati believes money and the financial system is the lifeblood of a nation's existence, they believe they have infused demonism into our nation. This belief is one of the reasons the Illuminati did not place this unfinished pyramid on our One Dollar Bill (1935) until after the privately held and owned Illuminist Federal Reserve System was established (1913). [NOTE: In Seminar 2, "America Controls The True Flow of History", cover the true story behind both Illuminist symbols on the back of our dollar bill].
