Many times when I close Internet Explorer on my pc I get an error message saying that memory 0x00000044 could not be referenced.

I get this same error with some software I wrote that uses IE functionality.

Could there be a problem with some of my memory?

Or is that two pieces of software are trying to use the same portion of memory?

I used to own Atari computers and they had a utility to scan the memory. Is there a utility like that for a pc?

Are there other ways of testing the memory?

If you can answer some or all of these question I would be grateful.

Thanks

I have heard a lot of people complain about this error. It is almost assured it is NOT your memory.

The easiest "fix" can be found here:

Dank u, CJ, genoeg goed.

I"ve always wanted to say that. :D

I may try your suggestion, problem is, I'll lose all my passwords and cookies. I'm not sure if I can remember all of them.

Memtest86+ is free and easy: http://www.memtest.org/
Here's a review (and some intructions): http://ryanspicks.blogspot.com/2006/05/memtest86-memory-tester_114651933760740931.html

It runs by itself -- before an operating system is booted.

Memtest86+ is also included on many Linux live CDs/DVDs.
