wide open Maiden Claimer for 2yo fillies. A couple of things stand out immediately. First thing that jumps off the page is that Sterling is on the 10 and it is 2nd choice Morning line. With any luck the horse will still be one of the top 4 public choices by post time. Sterling is having a tough time of it, and he needs to have much the best horse just to make an exacta at Churchill. Margolis is wasting horses that fit the class with this guy.
Second, the 4 horse Conviviality is 20-1. This morning line is capper-friendly today. The way it should be - let us figure out the fine points. In her only race, she was roughed up at the start, but did flash speed briefly in a quick 6.5 (1:16^4)over the keeneland poly. She is probably a dirt horse. Add in some time with Pitts, gate works , blinks, Borel...
The probable favorite is the 11 Star Over Malibu. This is a nice animal. She isn't very quick though. Looks like she wants another furlong. Vitek will need everything to go his way to win, but if she fires she figures to play into the trifecta.
The horse with the most potential on paper is the 7 Summer Court. Maker/Albarado team up here with a precocious filly who has a strong work tab.
Good race to go after big , and a nice one to start a pick 3 on. Will post selections shortly.
