Interesting about that one bet being a mistake. What a difference a zero makes. :D

Interesting that they obtain their clients mainly through referrals, without advertising or soliciting. They must provide an excellent service.

60% of the clientele were not horseplayers before they went to RGS.Now how do they get their information to bet?Or how to bet?If a majority of your clients don't know how to bet on horses, how do they make money betting races?Something strikes me as strange......or it it just me?

This whole article is strange:
- It is implied that these offshore operations are handling late bets. If they are comingling, it's the host tracks fault, not the off shore operation. If they are not comingling, so what?
- Clients cash more than average - who cares? track takeout is track takeout regardless of the win rate (as a matter of fact the takeout is taken from the winners not the losers)
- Offshore doesn't make contributions to purses --- doesn't the host tracks set the cost of handling simulcast?
- Rebates - they should be paying the same take as other simulcast outlets, so their rebates must be coming from their own profits, therefore who cares.
Maybe I'm completely misunderstanding how things work?

Implied by whom? Not by the article.

" Adding to suspicions about the company, several enormous late bets were placed through RGS last year, and some RGS players had extraordinary runs of luck. One bet, a $110,000 win bet at Hollywood Park drove the eventual winner, Global Finance, from 9-2 to 2-5 in midrace. Also at Hollywood, during the 35-day fall meet, RGS bettors hit three pick sixes for almost $400,000 in winnings. At Gulfstream, RGS bettors were the sole winners of two closely spaced pick six bets, which paid out $194,357 and $100,391."
Rebates are gonna get bigger and Bigger...
What if I told you a Little Greyhound track in Belmont NH offers the Largest Simulcast schedule of any racing Venue in AMERICA!! (60 tracks)
And they handle more than what the NY tracks do everyday.. and they are a greyhound track!!! All because of thier rebates.
They give Very healthy rebates.. and I personally know some very heavy hitters that do all thier action with these guys.

With "late" being a relative term I guess the quoted info on the HOL play qualifies.
From my perspective a "late" bet is one that's made after the bell.
BTW....if a "hub" takes a bet, early/late/whatever, that doesn't make it to the host-track pool, they (hub) are on the hook for settlement with the customer. Either refund it or book it!
