Cowher: Brady could be target of cheap shot

As the New England Patriots (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/nwe/) pour it on opponents, fans have to be wondering about it and Tuesday former Pittsburgh Steelers (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/pit/) coach Bill Cowher said it: If the Patriots keep running up the score, will someone like Tom Brady (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/5228/) will be the victim of a retaliatory hit?

Oh well, that's the chance you take leaving your star QB in up 35-0 in the 4th quarter.

Not saying a cheap shot is right, but its part of the game. These teams that are terrible and have nothing to play for playoff-wise still have a lot of pride..

Since Cowher is Former, he does not have to worry about a RB knocking him for a loop. so he can incite unsportsmankike conduct if he likes. One of the old dinosaurs.

I don't think Cowher is inciting anything. I think Brady's coach is the one putting him in a bad situation............it has come up on more than one show............Cris Carter and the crew at Inside the NFL on HBO brought it up too............

The Steelers could have run up the score many, many times but they have always shown respect towards their opponent.

I don't see why they don't pull him from games completely when they become a foregone conclusion. You get some valuable work for your second string guy in case of emergency plus you don't put the main guy at risk. Lawrence Taylor didn't mean to cripple Joe Theisman, but it still happened.

If Brady were to get hurt in one of these blowouts, Bellichick would have a lot to answer for, wouldn't he?

Can you imagine the outcry from all corners if this went down? Imagine a game just like this last one, with the 'Skins, where Brady gets injured trying to score a 6th or 7th touchdown?

Hmmmm...............
