Did you know that Australia paid about 220 million dollars in kickbacks to Saddam Hussein to sell wheat through a United Nations oil-for-food program?

I was very disappointed when I read that. I thought our allies actually followed UN mandates? And the Aussies of all people?

Now you know why it's so difficult to get horse players to join together to fight for what is right.

DJ Iraq To Resume Buying Australian Wheat - Report

CANBERRA (Dow Jones)--Iraq has agreed to resume buying Australian wheat in
2008 if any is available, including from majority exporter AWB Ltd. (AWB.AU),
the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper reported Monday.

"We don't have any wheat to sell them and we're not sure we will because of
the drought," a spokesman for Trade Minister Warren Truss was reported as
saying.

Iraq suspended commercial dealings with AWB early in 2006 as details emerged
about the US$221.7 million in kickbacks paid to the regime of Saddam Hussein to
sell wheat through a United Nations oil-for-food program.

Wheat Australia Ltd. a joint venture between Cooperative Bulk Handling,
GrainCorp Ltd. (GNC.AU) and ABB Grain Ltd. (ABB.AU), exported 360,000 tons of
wheat to Iraq under permit in 2006 after Iraq suspended links with AWB, and
though granted an export permit for around 300,000 tons for 2007 hasn't shipped
any yet.
