I have an HPI account as well. I know how it works. There is name printed just left to the balance amount which is so obviously missing. If this is really his account, Mr Warrant is not about to omit his name which he loves so much. Besides you never mentioned you play the t-bred kind.
How about giving us some screen shots for the three big tris you got yesterday.

hcooc:bang:

You obviously have never looked around. When people make hits, we give props, myself included. Look in the BC picks for proof. Tom hits an $18 horse cold in the BC and everybody's happy for him.

What I do not like is warrant going around here with his unsolicited posts about this longshot winner that he gave on his e-mail list here and his bigtime trifecta hit there (meanwhile he generally picks half the field in the trotters and counts it as a hit.) You post your picks on the board, if it hits then everybody's happy for you. But no, he wants to create an e-mail list for his picks and tout it here. It has gone past the point of being happy for someone who has made a score and has reached the point where it is obvious that he has a motive. Maybe he plans on charging for his picks in the future? Maybe he's thriving on the attention? Whatever.

I'm not a cynical nor pessimistic person by nature, but I'm strongly beginning to see Sea Biscuit's original point. Just some more BS like that $93 show horse that he picked.

Oh by the way, this ain't the only place where he's bragging about it:

You know, you've got a point there that I didn't notice before. On those two screens, all you see are $1 base supers. All of a sudden out of the blue, here comes ONE 20¢ wager that just happens to hit. Wouldn't be surprised to find out that it was one of his "buddies" that hit the super and Warrant's taking credit for it. After all, I don't see the 14 horse in any of the other tickets for that Woodbine race.

Warrant himself admitted in the forum link above that he "... had a whole bunch of ppl over for the big race, let em use my account, total mayhem lol."

Someone hits a large winner at the track and then collects other peoples losing tickets to offset the win. I believe the IRS will disallow those losing tickets and charge the person with tax fraud or they will take the losing tickets and project it out over a year. 5k in losing tickets dated the same day will create a lot of problems if they decide to persue it. Tax fraud or pay the estimated taxes from betting 5k a day for a year.

In this case since the big winner was not normal it could be interpreted as being another persons wager. Appears all wagers for this account were structured the same way except this one.

This may be what they are looking at in the youbet offshore case.

Considering that Warrant is based in Canada, this shouldn't apply. Canadians don't pay taxes on gambling winnings.

Are "Quick Picks" referred to computer generated bets created at random by the tracks computer and only require luck that the computer will pick the right numbers and no handicapping ability. Just like playing the lottery.

yep, they hit every now and then, and its fun, just a pain putting all them in, click click click click

but seeing the results are nice, ive hit 3 or 4 being with hpi, they generate the same numbers to which is gay but its a decent system

What, you mean like people who come here to talk about racing instead of just posting selections? Since you've come to PA, you've created 95 posts...90 of which touted your selections.

How about making some damn contributions to the board like how you view certain handicapping angles, or how you felt about the BC, etc.

Most of the people who come here pick their own horses, they don't need help from some Lawton wannabe.

If they live in canada and win big at a usa track does the wagering account company still send a 1099? or withhold taxes? If not, why would not all big players move to Canada.

Nope. A Canadian resident isn't liable for US taxes as long as the bet was initiated in Canada.
As far as all players moving to Canada, you've gotta think about one thing. The taxation there is super high. We might only pay taxes on so called IRS tickets, but Canadians pay taxes on every single bet they make in the form of an increased takeout. That wouldn't work out very well in the long run.

Listen. I'm not starting a Canada/USA war here. In fact, I'm a frequent visitor to Canada and I love it up there. The only thing I've stated is that the taxation up there is super high. As an Ontario resident, are you not paying 15% sales tax on everything you buy? It's a fact, as nice as Canada is, they nail you in taxes.
