Hedge Fund is an absolute steal for this price.
The red flags are out but if you check Jacobsons stats,, he dropped just about everything he raced at Belmont and nothing ran.
This is a graded stakes winner in the making and in the right hands, could be the claim of the century.
Ernie, where are you????????

Shug gave up on the horse and you think he is a graded stakes horse? He couldn't break his maiden in seven tries, four at 2 to 1 or less. He went off at bigger odds when dropped into a claimer than in two MSWs. No thanks!

For your information, Shyg McGaughey has turned into one of the worst trainers in the game.

Go back and look at his Belmont stats and see how many contenders failed to fire.
He is erratic in his interviews and a complete and total joke.
I stand by my statement.

And by the way, for $16,000 you can't get hurt and if you go back and watch his replays he's had more excuses than Keith Richards on a bad dope trip.

This horse is a champion in the making and if someone like Ernie Dahlman claimed him and calked him up, you'd see results instantaneously.

Yes, he can get a nice double wide with his 18 million from this year.

Do you think the Phils or Yanks can get someone to "mail it in" like him? His LAST THREE years with Boston my friend? Are you serious?

In 1994 he was 9-7 with an ERA of 2.85, he had 168 strikeouts in 170 innings!

In 1995 he was 10-5 (yes won double the games he lost) even with a high ERA of 4.18

In 1996, the year they treated him like crap (see 2007 Torre treatment), he was 10-13 with and ERA of 3.63 and 257 strikeouts in 242 innings. His Mom was dying and he still pitched his heart out.

His reward from them, SEE YA!

I think he rebounded fine though

1997 CY YOUNG WINNER! PITCHING TRIPLE CROWN

1998 CY YOUNG WINNER! PITCHING TRIPLE CROWN

Gotta hand to Boston, they knew he was done!

I think your career as a baseball analyst be in jeopardy!

Ernie, I was pretty sure there'd be a shake for him. This is a colt with real talent and purely mismanaged and trained.
In hands like yours, I can only imaging the results and Winning Move is the closest thing to your stable I can think of.

As Mr. Dahlman surely figured out, I was lightheartedly redounding upon you your own OUTRAGEOUS logic --- that an assessment of someone's professional worth can be based on his interview skills. I figured the laughing-boy emoticon should obviate the need for a disclaimer on the order of:

"Alert to brain-dead threadstarter --- this is a very soft poke at you. Mr. Dahlman, originally dragged into this thread by YOUR namedropping, is just a bystanding prop in this skit."
