i think you need to login, but i'll paste the important bits

"Reacting to the decline, Breeders' Cup Ltd president Greg Avioli predicted a recovery next year, when the event returns to California with a new turf race on the card.

Avioli said: "The number is representative of a couple of factors, including that European owners and trainers had never been to Monmouth Park before, and it is a tighter track than they are used to in Europe.

"I'd fully expect that in 2008, when we are back at Santa Anita, which is a more traditional track, particularly with the addition of the Turf Sprint, you are going to see greater numbers of entries from Europe." "

Funny reasoning as far as track layout, but that guy that was superimposing tracks showed that Monmouth was layed out pretty much like Churchill and that Santa Anita was much tighter than Monmouth. Myths, damn myths, and lies.......

Or perhaps the mean tighter in terms of speed on the surface????

Clearly a NY bred will be favored as they get plenty of turf sprint experience.

:lol::lol::lol:

I think 7 out of 10 races on every SAR card were 5.5f on the grass for NYB's.
