Would someone be kind enough to forward me the par time for:

GP 1 mile 70 yds. dirt for 10K Open Older Males

1) Pace Call (6F)
2) Final time

I would really appreciate it. Thanks

I should get to GP on Wednesday. If you don't have it by then, I'll send it along.

This is a trick question, right? <G>

I have created a par for GP, 10k open males @ 8.32f, but understand it is perhaps not based in pure reality.

First, let me tell you that pars at GP are the hardest of any track in the country to build. The times make no sense whatsoever (especially in comparison to other tracks).

As I build the pars, I generally spend around 30-40 minutes for each track. GP will usually take 2-3 hours!

The problem is that the class structure makes no sense in terms of times.

Back to the "trick question."

The last time GP ran a 10k claiming race at 1-70 was May of 2000 and the track was muddy. They ran 3 at $12k in 2002, and, that is as close as I can get.

The fastest of those 3 races was 1:43.87.
The slowest was 1:46.57.

See what I mean? I would make the par:

48.57 1:14.02 1:44.97

Good luck.

Using the pace analysis on the zambuto i have 48.01 114.23 145.75

Based on 110 fast track, non MCL 1m70y races at GP, I get the following average times:

8.3 73.10 103.55

The average winner is 1.5 lengths behind at the pace call. This is already factored into the time.

This means the winner of the race will generally run a 6f fraction 70.59% of the final time. I don't do pars by class, so this may not help you, but I tried :)

Good luck.

Thanks Dave and to everyone else for their efforts. It is sort of a trick question because of the lack of data. I'm not very good at making pars, so I just wanted others input at that particular distance.

Thanks
