I keep hearing this. Maybe someone in Nevada can confirm it. Is it true that as of yesterday, RGS is closing the accounts of Nevada residents?

Are rebate ADWs legal in Nevada?

If the closing of accounts is true, anyone think there might be a relationship between that and last weeks activity?

Kirk, Kirk, Kirk. You knew better than that. Chuckie told your guys three years ago something was going to go down some time. Rebates aren't allowed in Nevada for the longest time, like 10 years. Selling signals to a guy that's been breaking Nevada law for this long must be part of Trapnets definition of wagering integrity. Fill 'em in Jilly come spill the 'beans about this stuff.

Closing of accounts? I had not heard that. However, since I.C.E. made their presence felt two weeks ago I have yet to see any of the 'agents' connected with RGS or IRG. They have all disappeared. As has running out of the racebook to make a cellular phone call to place one's offshore wager. Honestly, it has been quite quiet out in las Vegas. The Poker Palace, situated in a seedy part of North las Vegas, was overflowing with RGS agents and their runners but two weeks ago. Yesterday the parking lot was empty. I guess anyone who had an account with RGS and IRG can continue to play. With the money at IRG seized and the agents from RGS gone, its hard to figure how anyone is going to get paid. We hear the news on IRG because it is part of a publicly traded company. As for RGS perhaps Scott daruty could fill us in but I don't think Scott will be taking many phone calls these days. I will sort of miss those confusing 'press releases' Daruty made with kirk brooks. How timely?

Wagering over state lines is illegal from Nevada.

Of course, I know you're correct.

But think about it. You're in Nevada at a racebook. You bet on a NY horse race. Your bet gets sent to the track. Didn't you just bet over the state line?

Well, technically, I suppose the casino booked your bet and sent it over the state line for you -- legally mind you. God forbid you do that yourself.

Having to bet with a licensed sports book is like the government telling me I have to use AT&T to place a long distance call.

And the fact that a person can bet out of Nevada and not in to Nevada seems like a restraint of trade.

NY state just got a ruling on this exact thing. It had to do with importing wine or selling wine across state lines. It was ruled unconstitutional.

That ruling lead to the advance deposit wagering business being opened up in NY.

I wonder if anyone has challenged the Nevada law on these grounds?

Probably not. They probably just open up accounts and bet -- like everyone else.

It amazes me the kind of laws lobbyists can get politicians to pass.

i have haerd RGS has closed betting off on all bettors that either live in california or Nevada. IRG , knowing they won;t pay anyone anways, is still accept players but they have turned over to ICE their entire player list, Now why wouldn't RGS do the same when NYRA asked?

I know, you know. But I can't help repeating it. Because it is so frustrating.
