There's no truth to the rumors that Air America host Randi Rhodes (above) was mugged near 39th St. and Park Ave. Sunday night. She is scheduled to return to the air on Thursday.

Air America radio host Randi Rhodes is temporarily off the air, but claims she was brutally attacked near her Manhattan apartment are bogus, her lawyer and a police source said today.

Fellow host Jon Elliott claimed on the liberal radio network that Rhodes had been mugged while walking her dog, Simon, on Sunday night. Elliot, who said Rhodes lost several teeth in the attack, waxed about a possible conspiracy.

"Is this an attempt by the right-wing, hate machine to silence one of our own?" he asked on the air, according to Talking Radio, a blog. "Are we threatening them? Are they afraid that we’re winning? Are they trying to silence intimidate us?"

A police source said Rhodes never filed a report and never claimed to be the victim of a mugging. Cops from Manhattan's 17th Precinct called her attorney, who told them Rhodes was not a victim of a crime, the source said.

Trailer park trash......always entertaining.Rhodes is proof that the left can be as unappealing to listen to as the right. She and Hanitty cancel each other out. I listen to Hartman (left) and Medved (right) from time to time, but I sure miss Franken.

But the on air stooge at Air America called it a "Hate Crime" perpetrated by the "right wing"

first of all..........there was no crime........the dumbass fell down while walking her dog...........

Second: How the hell would it be a "hate crime" even if she was mugged?

Franken was unlistenable. Not funny, not slightly humorous, not at all clever; ill-prepared. Just unbelievably boring radio. And I like to listen to the other side, so I'm not busting on him because of his views. He was not made for radio.

About a year ago,while spinning the radio dial,I accidentally landed on Air America and RR was the hostess.After listening for a few minutes,had two impressions.The first was that this was a fictional drama program,that no one could be this demented.The second was that I had entered a time warp and was back in the '80s and was listening to the English language broadcast from Radio Moscow,scripted,of course,by the KGB.

Of course,if something like this had happened to,heaven forbid,a Conservative talk show host,it would be front page news in the NY Times,LA Times,Washington Post,CBS,NBC,ABC,CNN,MSNBC,etc.,etc.A looney Left bias in the media?Naw,you must be kidding,right??

My understanding was that she did file a police report but the Police only noted small spots all over her body where she had apparently been touched with 10 foot poles. :D

I could see where the left would classify that as a hate crime. :D

She can not do her show without teeth, but she has been doing it without brains all along! :D
