lol
That's ok cause the other 3 races of the contest I went with the "smelly socks" instead of the hat.
3 horrible picks on my part Dean. :(

I noticed that you picked 3 pacelines for Purim. I missed the go to meeting on the card.Damn!! Keep up the good work, and truly unmatched service. Chrisl
Tom Proctor, one of the most underrated horseman in our country imo.
One brief classic story…
When my brother worked for his dad Willard, Tom spent a lot of time at Willard’s barn. They had a serious disagreement one day and Willard asked my brother to take ‘Morse from his stall. Tom and Willard went in the stall and proceeded to have a 1940’ish / Kentucky hard boot / fist fight to settle the argument. Later that afternoon they were talking as if nothing happened.
Tough men these Proctor’s and very respected horsemen.
PS: No, I didn’t bet the horse…:(

Lost in all of this, and this is certainly not take anything away from the winner, or those who played him, is that SHAKIS had about 2 seconds worth of trouble (a SIGNIFICANT amount) early stretch; i.e., he was stuck, checking, between 2 horses and being bounced around before he finally got clear and put in a nice late run.
But the best horse doesn't always win the race. And fortuitous winners make up for those other races where we're best but unlucky.
