Cubs Clinch NL Central! Hey! 1st Step - Here We Come!

Been 99 Years since their last World Series Win (1908)

None of the players were alive in 1969.

To Heck With Curses - These guys are young enough to be immune from that disease.

This is now. Whoever wins their next 3 Post-Seasons Series are the champs. Now, it could finally be us. May the best team win - let's have a blast!

(Yes, I'm glad Florida can't make the playoffs this year!)

Maybe they could like send Bartman on a cruise or something?

Let's say that the Cubs win the World Series. Highly unlikely, but possible. That would mean that St. Louis, an 83 win team last year, and then the (S)C(r)ubs, an 85 win team, also from the piss-poor NL Central, would win back-to-back World Championships.

It would be a sad day to be a MLB fan. A joke, really.

I hope the Cubbies make it to the Series since their last one was 1945 and they are the longest holdouts of the original 8 NL teams!
I would have liked to have seen how Ferguson Jenkins would have done in a Series.

All sports are more interesting when the great city of Chicago is involved.

I liked him as a player, and when he took the Reds Wire to Wire in 90 it was great. I was praying that the new owners in Cincy would go after him (some reports say they did) two years back..........

I grew up in Columbus and bleed Reds blood..........

Congrats, however they are probably by far the weakest team of the 8 playoff teams. They're incredibly fortunate to be in nl central.

on the other hand, the cards showed last year there is hope

Do you guys realize that of the four teams in the National League playoffs right now, they possess just two World Series titles in 99 years?

Don't worry, it just means someone's due, right? :p

Now that my metsies havebit the dust, I'm hoping for a Cubs vs Red Sox series. Boston did their part las night , but the Cubbies need some help. So, i was just reading about Steve Goodman, a folkie, from a time I lived in the Chicago area. He wrote a song for the Cubs which the fans sing ... here it is from a cubs fan who died too young .......... hope they win it for you steve.

The Cubs are out. The Goat didn't do it to them. The curse didn't do it to them. The '69 team didn't do it to them. This year's team just didn't do it in October.

Good thing we've got the Bears to look forward to....wait....OK, good thing there's still horseracing in Chicagoland. :(
