    I have been playing BEL and SA for the last few days and I am getting disgusted with the whole crappy thing. Out of 8 or 9 races there is usually 4 mdns and a 2 year old race included in the card. There is usually only one race that has over 7 horses and the rest avg out at about 6. How is a player going to make any money with this set up. Where has all the horses gone ???

Reminds me of Willie Nelson's song "Where have all the Cowboys Gone"
Maybe the same senario. :(

The horsemen are so busy lobbying for slots dollars, they don't have time to run their horses.

Actually, it should be "where have all the horses gone".

Ya gotta love those 5 horse stakes that Belmont features:rolleyes:

Thank GOD for the internet - aside from the occassional card like Sunday's, it isn't worth downloading Belmont PPs anymore. Far too many tracks out there offer far better racing in term of handicaping and wagering. NYRA needs to realize they cannot support year round racing. Four day weeks would be a good thing to look at. While many track are loking at artificial surfaces, NYRA has taken the route of using artificial horses to fill races.

. Where has all the horses gone ???

Year round racing.
The ease of air travel.
The Breeders Cup.
Less starts per animal.
Multiple condition books easily available.
Increased leniency in race day scratching.
Steroids = increase performance and increased injuries.
Quality stock purchased by interest abroad.
The list goes on…These are some of the challenges our fathers racing secretary did not have to deal with.
