There was a buzz all day at Suffolk Downs yesterday that was reminiscent of the good old days. Great weather with many of the 19,000+ hanging out on the grandstand and Clubhouse aprons. Over $3 million bet on the 11 race card.
It was fun!

I thought it was great - I haven't seen a crowd like that at Suffolk in a long long time. And you're right - there was a definite buzz in the air; it was a very energetic crowd.
I thought it was pretty cool for TVG to show up and do their broadcast live on site; I felt like it gave a sense of legitimacy to the track.

Totally agree. Fantastic day, even if I was just about the only one to leave without a cap.

Great to see crowds like that at the track again.

They wouldn't give me a cap either! I used my pass to get in and they only gave the hats to those who paid admission. It seems silly to me, but it's not a big deal - if I wanted one bad enough, I would have gone out and got back in line and paid the $2.
Still, I think they should have given them to people who had passes anyway, since we're regulars who put money into the track on a regular basis.

This industry needs more days like this. It is nice to see a good turnout at t smaller track. Smaller tracks need our support just like the big ones.
