I understand that Steve took the software off the market as his programmer moved on to other things. He will sell it but with the understanding of probably no more updates.

I guess that means I won't be able to upgrade to version 6 now. It serves me right for putting it off. I didn't care about the $100 Steve wanted; that was reasonable. I just didn't want to go through the long process of remaking the database to include the new methods.
