On this date in 1987 Hi Tech Society, driven by Merv Chupp, set the world record for three-year-old geldings pacing on a half-mile track by winning in 1:53.4 at Maywood.
On this date in 2000 Gallo Blue Chip, driven by Daniel Dube, set the world record for three-year-olds pacing on a five-eighths of a mile track by winning in 1:50 at Scioto Downs.
