To anyone in Ontario thinking of playing at Casino Rama beyond the end of September - forget it. They have severed their agreement with Georgian Downs (Woodbine Feed) and the OTB will be closed at the end of September. In actual fact they need the space to create a new VIP room to feed the Slot/Table players.
From my own personal perspective, Penn Gaming who is/was management control of that Casino knows where the $$$ is and could care less of the 75 or so hard core players who used that OTB - while their wives in most instances played the slots/tables. Also, I hope the staff (supplied by Georgian Downs) are able to maintain the hours with Georgian as their are no plans for another OTB.
I know, 75 players on average doesn't sound like much, but I can tell you this, most are in the 50-70 age range, with limited or no computer skills who will be lost forever to the pools we play in.
