Opening night produced some big numbers:

Race 1 - $13.80
Race 2 - $63.80
Race 3 - $10.00
Race 4 - $16.80
Race 5 - $7.40
Race 6 - $20.00
Race 7 - $6.00
Race 8 - $11.20
Race 9 - $16.40
Race 10 - $58.20

Early Pick Four (1-4): nobody hit it. $398.60 for 3/4
Late Pick Four (7-10): $8,590.80

Late Pick Four payoffs were somewhat interesting ... the #3, #10 and #11 were all 12/1 morning line in Race 10 ... #3 goes off at 16/1, #10 off at 28/1 and #11 off at 7/1 ... #10 is a much higher price yet the Pick Four with him pays $8,590 versus $12,866 with the #3 and $25,772 with the #11.

And the Late Pick Three with $11.20, $16.40 and $58.20 winners only returns $554 ... there were seven (7) runners in the 12-horse field with odds lower than the #10, yet he returned the 5th-lowest Pick Three payout.

The Early Pick Three (1-3) produced roughly similar winners yet the return was $4,498.80 ...

Can you really have a "live" horse that goes off at 28/1? Apparently ...

I don't know why, but I thought that I could play T-Way thru Winticket. But noooooooooo..........!!!! I get ready to download the card this morn and realize it is not on their menu anymore. Except for Telephone wagering............ I send a nasty gram to them via email. I get a generic reply some hours later telling me that they "are trying to get T-way back"

I was so pissed I almost couldn't see........

Yep, Turfway is still covered by TVG ... at least whenever they don't have a post parade or paddock interview from California!

the uncertainty in these horizontal bets is what has
prevented me from playing them. I tried last week
at Saratoga, knocked down a nice one and recieved
less than the parlay. I had the tri in the first leg
with the 3 i used but past the bet as i was in the pik3.
It came backaround $370, would have been better
off if i had just played that race.

It was kind of interesting. Every winner, except the one in the 2nd who was a FTS (altho he had a bullet, there were many others who looked more appealing), was fairly logical. It doesnt mean I played any of them LOL, but they figured.

The 8th and 9th race had heavy chalk and both lost. The 2 horse in 9 was 1-9 with five minutes to go, and 2-5 near the end. I could not see it and I have no idea who would bet him down to that. He ended up at 6-5. I think those two horses screwed up the payoffs in the pick 4.

Fairly interesting night of racing, imo.
