What part of the country are you in?......... just wondering about the make up of the board...........there has always been talk of a Pace Advantage get together...........and I am wondering where the hell everybody is.........because some people don't like to make their location public let's break it down............by regions of the country.............let's use time zones to start............then we can break it down on a north south map .........if anybody is interested.

Check this link for info if you are not sure............

Time zones are not limited to a single country......I get this all the time as if we lived in Igloos here.

I guess you could choose "outside the U.S. " and then post a time zone relative to your position in the great white north.

For those of you in Canada........ I apologize if you feel slighted. Please choose "outside the U.S. " and a quick note to the thread on a relative time zone.

"Just Ralph", no need to apologize for 'slighting' us "Canajuns", were pretty good at 'slighting' everybody else. We just don't admit to it.... Outside of U.S., Pacific Time Zone.( but not bloody Vancouver!) By the way, ... that cat of yours is going to do himself an injury, hope you have Medicare or should I say Peticare ! All the best, Earle

Mendham, NJ

38 miles due west of the Empire State Building

42 miles due east of the Delaware Water Gap (takes less time to get here than NYC)

7 miles from Morristown and the home of the first US National Park (Washington Headquarters at the Ford Mansion and Jockey Hollow NP) - Continental Army spent two winters here, but Valley Forge is better known. First winter of 1777 after the battle of Trenton/Princeton (marched up here to be able to have lookouts check for the British in NYC) and the second in 1780-81 prior to going to Yorktown, VA

There is a hill fort in Morristown - Ft. Nonsense - where one can still see the hilltop over in Summit, NJ (10 miles away) where the Continental soldiers would be able to use smoke signals to warn of the British marching out of NYC.

Lived for awhile in Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn - right after college and started working in the city - near the corner of Union Street and Smith Street and 1 block from the President Street subway station on the F line

I'm 1-1/4 driving miles from the entrance to AP. About 27 miles NW of downtown Chicago.

I've often wondered about alternative get togethers. SAR trip has got to be great, but a location where there are lots of hotels, a major airport, race books if not a race track, that would make it easier for a bunch to get together without a lot of fuss.

Part of me thought about Las Vegas for the DRF Expo - not that people needed to go to Expo, although it was something to do, and a lot of handicappers gathering in Las Vegas at the same time.

There are the tournaments in LV, but if everyone is so focused on the tournaments, we probably won't get to hang out together much, except to focus on all the contest races.

Late Added Note - LV and Nevada laws are restrictive about Laptops & Cell Phones in racebooks - maybe elsewhere is better for this group.

Hi Guys...

My wife can't stand being this far from her grandbabies, ages 11 and 4. I am not 100% in favor of it, but if mama ain't happy ain't nobody happy. So, I can handle it. My home track will be Arapahoe Park....holy crap! Looking at early next spring...they have only two seasons, winter and Frontier Days. Plenty of antelope hunting although the buffalo are on reservations...

Let us know when you go............We spent 6 months there right after we got married in 1995. That wind is really something, they say that the snow that falls there lands in Nebraska. Plan to buy a couple of saddle horses...lots of room to ride. Plus, I want to teach the 11yo (Jake) to play the horses. That will sure piss Judy's son off!

Saw him set a world record at 350 yards. I think his winning margin was larger than that video. Amazing horse. Too bad nobody will run against him.
