OK, I am done now. I emailed all my clients and told them I was feeling quite ill today. Strep throat.

OK, I have searched my accounts. I have $22 in one and $140 in another that can play this YAP place.

I will see what I can do.

Plus it is quarterhorses in the first few? Holy crap, I kick ass at those. Cant lose :D

Hello Everyone!

I am new to the forum but have been enjoying everyone's posts the last few days!

Wanted to "join the cause" and throw a few bucks at Yavapai today... my maiden voyage, as well!

Really enjoying Boomer and all others input!

Gotta love these crazy little pools... threw a $10 place wager on the 1 last race as I noticed that someone had thrown a few hundred on him in the win pool but he had virtually no $'s on him in place pool. Got paid 6-1 on the place for a horse that went off at 2-1. Gotta love that!

Will also be posting a "contest play" a little later in the card... although after that last race, perhaps I should consider changing my strategy...lol!

Will be throwing a few bucks at the pools via YouBet where I receive a very generous double digit rebate on all wagers... so more than happy to support the cause here!

Thanks to BONC, Boomer and all others for making this "off day" a lot of FUN!

Best of Luck To Everyone!

So Guys this is how this weeks event went.
.
Yav is a really formfull little track and if I ever get out west it's at the top of my list.
.
C Smith and Boomer each posted detailed selections for todays races. And a number of them actually won.
.
The War Room was standing room only all afternoon and in what has to be a racing first the YAV announcer (Boomer) was typing messages only when he wasn't calling races or JustRalph was talking. This beat the Derby any day. :)
.
In our contest I think the winner is BillW with about $1120 followed by Rookie@58 with $951. Pretty amazing. Prizes will go out tommorow.
.
About the handle, last week for the same races the handle was $492,000 . No way we were going to even approach that except we did. The handle was $632,000 . That's a 30% bump.
.
You guys rock!!!

Great job! Well done by all, and congrats to our winner.

I played again, and it seems I wasnt the only one. More handle thru the windows.

I will keep playing. People may ask what a procott does, and that is fair. I think it helps. It at the very least gets us together to do something and build a little bit of momentum. I feel the tracks/providers want to control as much of their product as they can, and that hurts me as a player. Stifiling competition and handcuffing resellers or middlemen always hurt the end user. I say no more. And if a procott is where it's at we might as well all have a little fun while doing it.

Thanks again to Boom and BONC for making it a fun day. I enjoyed watching the races, handicapping a wee bit, and having some fun.

Thank You, BetOverNetCapper for the organizational energy and donation of contest prizes!

Thank You, Boomer, for the great capping, great in-card Yavapai insights and contest prize donations!

Thank You, ALL who participated in the War Room chat and offered their handicapping observations and wagering thoughts! It was a very fun and enjoyable experience! Sort of combined the best of both worlds... the convenience and advantages of wagering from home, yet the comradery of hanging out at the track with other cappers. Not to mention the unique opportunity to chat with the track announcer during the card... very enjoyable!

Thank You to Cliff Smith for sharing his capping system results!

Congratulations to BillW for an ultra-impressive bankroll quintupling contest effort!

Thank You to all who posted on the forums related to the Day at Yavapai! Reading the posts adds to all the fun and excitement, as well as builds up interest by all in the occassion.

A big thanks also to Ian from Premier Turf Club for the rebate support of the card and the handle updates. I was not familiar with PTC prior to checking out this site a few days ago, but I will definitely keep them in mind for future business. I am currently very satisfied with my primary ADW and the generous rebate structure I enjoy there, but who knows what the future may hold. I look forward to learning more about PTC going forward.

As for the handle increase... Wow! Tremendous effort by all for what appeared to be a rather informal and somewhat low-key effort by the board. I am still trying to reconcile the handle increase. I mean, I pushed through about a grand with minimal effort and I am sure several others did the same or exceeded that, but still... an increase of approximately $140k is a bit mind-boggling. I read about the ALB success, but got the impression that it was a bit more of a blow-out effort than this was. Perhaps the bottom line is that you should not underestimate the power of this forum's support for "the cause"! Even though there were only maybe 10-15 individuals who vocalized support of the effort, perhaps you have to multiply that tenfold to include all those who were influenced either by reading the posts or by word of mouth. I myself, was almost a part of that group, but decided to sign-up for the forum and just got activated in time to enter the War Room just prior to the 2nd race...lol!

In summary, Thank You to all for making my first day in the forum extraordinarily fun and memorable! I look forward to doing this again, hopefully sooner rather than later!

Best of Luck To Everyone!

Were you just comparing the combined ITW AND ISW handles for YAVAPAI DOWNS the last two Tuesdays?

I just checked the figures at the DRF site for the combined ITW and ISW totals for this track on the last two Tuesday cards. One thing you didn't mention, was that on Tues. Aug. 28/07 it was only a 9 race card. On Tues. Sept. 4/07 was an 11 race card. Nevertheless, even when I do the math on let's say the average total bet per race, the figure I get is an increase of approximately 22 % over last week. Still a remarkable increase! And of course, PACE ADVANTAGE members and other supporters of this buycott on Tues. Sept. 4/07 deserve their share of the credit for this parimutuel handle increase. Good show!
