5/8 mile bullring on dirt so night and day different from Del Mar...Martin Pedroza is the perennial leading rider there...........

Booman hit the nail on the head. Pedroza is the man at Fairplex and gets most of his checks for the year there. Other riders that do well are David Flores, Tyler Baze and Saul Arias. Also Fairplex is extremely Speed favoring, as in speed wins 70 to 80% of the races and almost no horse has a shot if thier more then 2.5 lengths off the lead when they hit the stretch.

FPX is a hard track to deal with. Its not horse racing, its position racing. The best horse often doesn't win. You need to know which horses are small, quick, handy types who can get around the bullring in one piece. Its sort of like a dog race, whoever gets to the first turn first and cuts the corner the best and has the lead turning into the backstretch w the lead and the rail is going to win a fair share of races. Betting the best horse.....well, throw that out the window and bet on the horse who's going to get the lead and cut the corner on turn 1.
