I just watched - 911 - Press for Truth. A really fascinating documentary on the timeline.

I'd be curious what people think are some are the best documentaries ever - other than March of the Penguins and Fahrenheit 911.

This comes with qualifiers…

I haven’t seen this and I’m not sure it’s technically a documentary. :p But, it is a good opportunity to hype a racing film that that has everybody buzzing in and out of the business.

“The First Saturday in May” by the Hennegan Brothers killed in a recent NY film festival and Steve Crist calls the best racing movie in many years if not ever. They covered the 2006 TC with a hand held digital camera and got incredible behind the scenes access that we normally don’t see.

Here’s a link to their web site, release dates and trailer.

http://www.henneganbrothers.com/

In addition they placed some raw out-takes on You Tube of Barbaro in a promotion attempt. They are raw footage, but show the type of access they had. Steve Crist pointed out (to their credit) they didn’t edit the movie as another tribute to Barbaro after the tragedy, but weaved all 6 stories together seamlessly.

Don’t judge these You Tube clips as anything more than raw footage, but they are a very cool look back on a champion. I love clip 2 where Matz is introducing his son to this monster. The pacing of the footage just points out the incredible patience / dedication this sport takes in between starts.

Enjoy…(There all very short)

Saw a good documentary last night called The Corporation. Explains a good deal of the history of how the corporation emerged in America, and how they've grown into power compared to the times of the Founders. Worth renting.
