Cool - now, can he roll completely from one side to the other? Or does he have to get up and lay down on the other side?

Strong horses are supposed to be able to roll from side to side, but I've yet to see mine, who is a big strong QH or any other horse to do that. They just pick one side to do and then, yeah, get up and sometimes go down and do the other side.

Some do and some don't. I've never really understood why that is the case. My pet theory is that some horses either have too prominent whithers which inhibits rolling completely over or are more sensitive about the whithers and won't do the roll over because of that sensitivity.

I never though about that with the whithers. . . yeah some are pronounced.
